Traditionally, apple stickers are made from single-use plastic, posing challenges for composting and recycling. In collaboration with sticker supplier J-Tech, Montague Farms is trialling the Sinclair T55 sticker, certified by the Australasian Bioplastics Association and compliant with global composting standards. This trial, launching August 2025 and running for three months, follows a successful test on plums and supports Australia’s broader packaging reforms led by the Australian Packaging Covenant Organisation (APCO) and Montague Farms’ commitment to a more sustainable future. Taking place at Montague Farms’ high-capacity facility in Narre Warren North, the trial demonstrates a commitment to reducing environmental impact while maintaining quality and traceability. Just look for the green-outlined sticker on your next JAZZ™ apple!
